The TELEKAT research and innovation project focuses on developing new preventive care and treatment methods for chronic patients in their own home using telehomecare technology. Telehomecare entails care and treatment between the patient?s home and health professions with the support of communication and information technology. The target group for this experimental project are citizens with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease also known as COPD. The project has the goal of preventing re-admissions to hospital of people suffering from COPD by promoting help to self-help for rehabilitation in their own homes. The rehabilitation takes place by providing COPD patients and their families the use of telehomecare technology.
The Telekat project will be presented at a promotion tour: "HealthCareVan" October 24-29 2010 arranged by the Danish Foreign Ministry. See program and list of participants.
